At Hillmill, our story began six years ago with a simple but powerful vision: to go beyond fighting hunger—and start fighting for better nutrition. While Tanzania has made great strides in food security, the hidden challenge of malnutrition still affects millions. We founded Hillmill to be part of the solution.
In early 2025, we officially launched our operations in Arusha, focusing on producing high-quality, nutritious cornflour that is both affordable and accessible to everyday Tanzanians. Guided by our slogan, “Afya na Nguvu” (Health and Strength), every product we make is crafted with care, quality, and the belief that good food builds strong futures.

Raymond Missaile Musa
Co-Founder & Managing Director
Raymond co-founded Hillmill with a deep commitment to improving nutrition in Tanzania’s rural communities. While working at the National Bureau of Statistics (2021–2022), he uncovered a critical gap: although hunger had decreased, malnutrition remained a widespread issue, especially in underserved areas.
With a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Natural Resources Economics and Business, and a lifelong passion for agriculture, Raymond brings both data-driven insight and grassroots understanding to Hillmill’s mission. He now focuses on aligning the company’s operations with its core goal—delivering affordable, nutritious food to Tanzanian families.
Bright Gervas Matowo
Co-Founder & Marketing Manager
Bright is a marketing and digital media strategist with a passion for helping brands grow and connect. He studied Business Administration in Marketing, and since 2020, he has worked as a freelance media buyer, supporting a range of clients with effective advertising strategies.
Alongside his media work, Bright has been offering web services — including website development and digital support — to businesses and organizations. At Hillmill, he leads efforts in branding, communication, and market positioning, helping the company build a strong and trusted presence both online and offline.
